The Project or How I Am Going To Make Up For The Last Three Years

As many of you know, or I guess will know if you are currently reading my blog, I was the Music Director of a moderately successful college radio for the better part of the last three years. In that time the one sentence that I heard more often than any other was some permutation of "What do you think of this band?" A lot of the time my decision on said band was snap and largely due to three criteria that I would run the band through, the first being the reputation of the band, the second the reputation of the label, and finally the five or ten minutes that I spent listening to the bands actual CD, and sometimes all three would fail and I would choose to rely on the information and choices of various assistants and DJ to form my opinion of the music. Sometime this practice led me to great music that I would have not otherwise heard, and other times I know that I did not get the full experience of the band at all.
I also recieved a lot of music from this period in my life that somehow filtered into my personal collection. Some of it I listened to directly and others I would let collect dust till a slow day, and sadly there are records in my room that are still collecting dust. So my decision this year is to fill it with music, to make my life full of notes, vocals, and badly dressed touring individuals. So my goal is to listen to a single album, end to end, once a day. Then I will post the album review up on this blog for all to see. I have already started this project and I will be starting to post the reviews up hopefully very soon.
